[NEWS] 130408 U-KISS’ first sub-unit ‘uBEAT’ to debut this April

U-KISS is set to unleash their first ever sub-unit and they’ll go by the name of ‘uBEAT‘!

NH Media confirmed on the 8th, “U-KISS’ first sub-unit uBEAT will debut at the end of April.”

As you can already guess, ‘uBEAT’ stands for ‘U-KISS’ and ‘BEAT’, and is comprised of members Eliand AJ with a featuring from main vocalist Kevin.

uBEAT have also teamed up with the hit-making producer Brave Brothers behind their hit song “Man Man Ha Ni” for their upcoming single, leaving fans eagerly anticipating this debut.

[NEWS] 130320 U-KISS and 2NE1 to stand on the same stage as Backstreet Boys and Demi Lovato in Malaysia

U-KISS and 2NE1 have been invited as the Korean representative(s) for a ‘Formula 1‘ event!

In America there’s NASCAR, for the rest of the world there’s Formula 1 or more commonly known as simply F1, which is the highest class of auto racing in the world.

Formula 1 will hold their annual Petronas Grand Prix event in Malaysia and both U-KISS and 2NE1 have been invited to perform at the concert stage ‘Twin Towers @ Live 2013‘ before the racing event. U-KISS is scheduled to perform on the 22nd while 2NE1 will perform on the 23rd. Both of these respective groups will be standing on the same stage as American artists such as Backstreet Boys and Demi Lovato. In 2011, the Wonder Girls performed for the event, and in 2012, Girls’ Generation were the guests.

For their upcoming performance, U-KISS said, “While we went on foreign performances, we were on stages with famous stars, but this performance feels different. We think this will be so much more meaningful because we can stand on the same place as Backstreet Boys, who we really respect. We’re so honored that U-KISS was invited to a place where people all over the world gather, and we’ll put on a great performance as the Korean representatives.”

[NEWS] 130314 U-KISS and Yurisangja to star on upcoming ‘Immortal Song 2′ special!

Earlier this year in our prediction article, we’d hoped that U-KISS would get a chance to appear on ‘Immortal Song 2‘. Well, that hope has turned into reality as the boys will be starring on an upcoming special.

Both U-KISS and Yurisangja will be featured guests on the upcoming ‘Women Generation Special’.

A representative from ‘Immortal Song 2′ stated, “U-KISS and Yurisangja will be guesting for the first time on the ‘Immortal Song’ Women Generation Special filming that will occur on the 18th. Their performance is a one-time special performance. Davichi, Narsha, and Yoon Hyung Ryul will also be featured on the show. The show will be centered around trot songs that the women of this generation like.”

Even though it’s not a permanent spot for them, hopefully this is a step in the right direction! The episode will be airing on the 30th.

A picture of U-KISS‘s special fan meeting has been gaining attention.

On November 28th, a picture of the special fan meeting was revealed through U-KISS’ official Twitter and sparked the jealousy of fans all around the globe.

Rather than holding a fan meeting in a grand, elaborate dining hall, the group decided to spend some up close and personal time with their fans.

U-KISS has not had time to meet with their fans due to their busy overseas schedules, so the members proposed that they have a meal with the fans. Thus, a number of lucky fans were invited to have dinner with the boys and in commemoration, and they took a snap shot of the enjoyable occasion

The boys of U-KISS are set to release their fifth Japanese single, “Distance” on December 12th.

As an early Christmas present, the short PV for “Distance” was uploaded on Avex’s official YouTubechannel. The song is a beautiful ballad that fits well with the Holiday season, a great showcase song where the members can display their vocal talent.

[NEWS] 121108 NS Yoon-G and U-KISS’s Eli chosen to host new show ‘K-Pop Tasty Road’

NS Yoon-G and U-KISS‘s Eli have been selected as the MCs for and all-English program ‘K-Pop Tasty Road‘!

The two will be greeting fans through their first broadcast on the 10th through cable channel O’live, and help spread knowledge and awareness about Korean food.

‘K-POP Tasty Road’ or ‘K-Ta-Ro’ is a spin off the the original show led by Park Soo Jin and Kim Sung Eun, ‘Tasty Road‘. However, a ‘K-pop culture’ concept has been infused into the new version to combine Hallyu and Korean food into one show.

As this is a show geared towards the international audience, the program will be in English, and NS Yoong-G and Eli were deemed the perfect fit as hosts for the show.

Starting in December, ‘K-POP Tasty Road’ will be broadcast in 11 countries through tvN Asia and Mnet U.S. For the Korean broadcast, Korean subtitles will be provided.

[NEWS] 121013 U-KISS’ Dongho sent to emergency room due to lung issues

U-KISS‘ Dongho has been sent to the emergency room due to lung issues.

Agency NH Media stated, “On the way to a scheduled event, Dongho experienced pains and was taken to the emergency room. After tests, they found that he’s suffering from pleurisy (inflammation of the lining of the lungs and chest that leads to chest pain, usually sharp, when you take a breath or cough). Now, we’re evaluating whether he needs surgery.”

“Dongho is currently acting as the spokesperson for [the movie 'Don't Cry Mommy'] and is promoting U-KISS’ 7th album ['Stop Girl']. Excluding Dongho, the rest of U-KISS is going on with their scheduled plans. Although the planned schedule is important, Dongho’s health is the most important. We’ll be watching his progress after he receives treatment at the hospital and we figure out whether or not he needs surgery.”

[NEWS] 120908 U-KISS wraps up Japanese solo tour at Budokan

U-KISS has wrapped up their solo tour in Japan at the Budokan.

According to their agency NH Media, U-KISS held their final concert on September 5 in front of an audience of 10,000 fans and 200 reporters. For three hours, the group performed their hit songs “Shut Up”, “Manmanhani”, “Round and Round”, and “Believe” as well as their Japanese tracks “Tick Tack”, “A Shared Dream”, and “Dear My Friend”.

Each member also prepared their own individual performance, and AJ, who is currently taking a hiatus to focus on his studies at Columbia University, surprised the audience with a video greeting.

In related news, U-KISS’ fourth Japanese single ‘One of You‘ hit 3rd on Oricon’s daily chart on September 5. They’ll be ending their promotions in Japan mid-September to make a comeback with their new album ‘Stop Girl‘, which will be released on the 20th.
